| Description |
English: Shows the former painting above of the entrance door of the souvenir shop at the site of the world-famous Hofbräuhaus in Munich, Germany. This door is directly suited right of the main entrance of the building. The inscription translates “Hofbräuhaus shop”. It shows an incorrect “long s” as the last letter of the word “Hofbräuhaus”, as the German typesetting rules require a “round s” at the end of words (or of the parts of compound nouns) even when using fonts which contain a long s. Also, the German orthographic rules require a hyphen between the two words (if the whole name is not written as a single compound noun, which is the preferred style anyway). — In June 2013, the painting was found renewed, showing now a correct (round) s (but still missing the hyphen). |
