Notes
  • Significance: Traditionally associated with Roger Williams, that is, it has been said to be his house of 1643, this house is representative of mid seventeenth-century dwellings found in Rhode Island. At that time houses like the Palmer-Northrup House were generally one-room, one and one-half story 'stone enders'. Also known as the Hall-Northup House, this building dates to ca. 1676. It was enlarged in ca. 1745 to the full two stories seen today.
