Summary
[edit]DescriptionHilderthorpe Beach - geograph.org.uk - 845203.jpg |
English: Hilderthorpe Beach, Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Sunbathers near the end of the concrete groyne protecting an old sewer pipe on Hilderthorpe beach at low tide. Sewers leading straight to the sea were once common but in these days of 'blue flag' beaches, most of these sewers have now gone and those that remain no longer discharge untreated waste. Bridlington's South Beach was given the blue flag for the first time in decades last year but lost it again this summer after failing a water test. |
