Description
English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented. Impression of the work of the European Space Agency (ESA) in Noordwijk. SHOTS: ext. ESA in the dunes near Noordwijk; research on satellites in large vacuum rooms where the conditions of outer space can be imitated; solar cells on the outside of the satellite; employees of the laboratory; a large number of cables inside the satellite; construction of the satellite 'Ariane'; fire comes out of the jet engines of a rocket ready for take off; construction of weather satellite Meteosat 2, with different parts; satellite dishes in Germany; machine prints satellite photo's of earth. ARCHIVE MATERIAL: launch of a satellite at launch base Cape Canaveral in Florida; communication satellite explodes shortly after launch.
