Het Haarlemse Teylers Museum verkeert in ernstige financiële moeilijkheden. Het museum werd in 1780 opgericht door Pieter Teyler, onder meer ter aanmoediging van kunsten en wetenschappen. Het museum beheert o.a. een grote boekencollectie, tekeningen van Michelangelo en een verzameling fossielen, mineralen, kristallen en ertsen. SHOTS: schilderij van Pieter Teyler; int. en ext. museum, met diverse museumstukken, o.a. het 31-toons door Nederlandse hoogleraar Adriaan Fokker ontwikkelde orgel; suppoost geeft uitleg over de electriceermachine aan jonge bezoekers.
English: Cinema newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented. The Teylers Museum in Haarlem is in serious financial difficulties. The museum was founded in 1780 by Pieter Teyler, among other things to encourage the arts and sciences. The museum manages a large book collection, drawings by Michelangelo and a collection of fossils, minerals, crystals and ores.
