English: Polygoonjournaal, newsreels in which subjects of a certain week were presented in cinemas throughout the Netherlands. Here: Maastricht commemorates and celebrates the liberation from German occupation on September 14th, 1944. The first section shows the laying of wreaths on the graves of the fallen. Next is a soccer match between local football club MVV and a team from the London area of Woolwich (Charlton Athletic?). Then, a parade with several floats (and a impersonation of Hitler). Finally, a funfair at night. Note: at 01:00 appears the mayor of Maastricht, baron W. Michiels van Kessenich.
