Description
Nederlands: Graffito in de ondergrondse kalksteengroeve Heerderberg in Cadier en Keer, Zuid-Limburg. De groeve was in de 16e eeuw in productie en was toen eigendom van het Kapittel van Sint-Servaas. De ingekraste graffito bestaat uit twee delen en stelt waarschijnlijk de beschieting van de Duitse Poort tijdens het Beleg van Maastricht (1579) voor. Hier afgebeeld is het grotere rechterdeel (160 x 140 cm), voorstellende de Duitse Poort met drie torenspitsen en een vijftal symbolen boven de poortdoorgang: een omega, een kruis met een cirkel, een zeis, een zandloper en een sleutel.
