English: Hawkhills, Easingwold, Yorkshire This was built as a farmhouse in the early 1700s. In 1874 the house and surrounding estate was sold to a Durham businessman, Joseph Love and it was expanded. Just prior to the Second World War the estate was purchased by the Ministry of Works and became an Anti-gas School. |
