Description
English: Bust of Napoléon Eugène, Prince Imperial, who trained as an officer in Woolwich and died, aged 23, in Zululand in 1879. To the left his compass and level, to the right an assegai, a Zulu spear with broken head, found near his dead body. Top left: military cape of Major Stuart Smith, a Royal Artillery officer who was killed in the same conflict in 1879. Top right: possibly the Prince Imperial's patrol jacket. Collection of the Royal Artillery Historical Trust. On loan to a semi-permanent exhibition dedicated to the Royal Artillery and Royal Military Academy in Greenwich Heritage Centre, Woolwich, south east London, UK.
