| Description |
English: Green Lane The lane begins at a junction that includes Norlington Lane and Broyle Lane then heads east in a straight line to Harvey's Lane. The lane originates from the enclosure of the former medieval deer park and common known as The Broyle in 1767 when a former highway was straightened then made wide enough to allow the droving of cattle. The modern lane uses only a fraction of the width as can be seen here as it dips to cross Clayhill Stream its level slightly higher than the verge on the right. |
