Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Great Ayton Waterfall. Strictly this is a weir created to provide a head of water to drive the two mills downstream but everyone in Ayton knows it as The Waterfall and it is in an area of public land officially called Waterfall Park. The weir was rebuilt in 1840 by Thomas Richardson after the disastrous flood in that year.
