English: Godwin Battery remains, Kilnsea, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The North Sea has shown little respect for these huge concrete gun emplacements at Kilnsea, built originally in WW1 and improved upon for use in WW2, with the aim of protecting the Humber and this stretch of low coastline which was thought to be a potential invasion site. |
