English: LIBI_00019_00307; This item is a copy of a card-mounted albumen photograph of George A. Custer in one-half seated view and wearing his West Point cadet uniform. The oval-shaped photograph is 5 x 7" (7 3/4 x 9 3/8" mounted on an oval mount) and was produced circa 1861. The image is attributed to George Rockwood and is Custer's West Point graduation photograph. The original image can be found in his West Point photograph album, catalog number 1997. On the front, a handwritten caption in pencil reads, "A Cadet at West Point." On the verso, a handwritten notation in pencil reads, "A at West Point" and is signed by Elizabeth B.
