English: Genealogical notes covering Sikh emperors from the Lahore Durbar [alt. spelt as 'Lahore Darbar'], focusing on their wives [termed as 'ranees', meaning "queens", spelt as 'ranis' in the present-day] and children, from the personal notebook and copybook of Duleep Singh, ca.1855–60. The names of all of the wives of the Sikh emperors, known to Duleep Singh, are listed in his own hand. The amount of wives associated with Ranjit Singh is impressive. Sikh and Hindu wives of Ranjit Singh are enumerated separately from Muslim wives (which number five and are listed at the bottom of the list). Peter Bance Collection. "Notebook of Maharajah Duleep Singh. Personal handwritten notebook and copybook of Maharajah Duleep Singh, c.1855-60, containing his copies of his official correspondence, contact addresses, account and genealogy."

Uploader's note: What I personally find utterly fascinating by this notebook is that it records that Maharaja Ranjit Singh had many daughters (4 individual daughters linked to Ranjit Singh are listed from what I can see). Sadly, their names & biographies have been totally ignored by current historical records and tellings of the era, never having been recorded in our history, probably due to the prevailing misogyny and patriarchy that is prevalent in Punjabi culture, especially back-then, which ignored and lowered the importance of women vis-a-vis men. This makes it very possible that there may be direct descendants of Ranjit Singh through his daughters. Whilst his lineage through his sons seemed to have died-off (with possible evidence/claimants otherwise, especially through his son Sher Singh, that there may still be direct paternal [father-to-son] descendants around), his bloodline may continue through his daughters to the present-day. It is unknown if any research has been conducted to document the daughters of Ranjit Singh.
