Summary
[edit]DescriptionGenModel.ogv |
English: One sixth scale working model of an "Allen" two cylinder steam engine generating set on display in Bedford Museum. Built in 1957 by W H Allen apprentices and restored in 2006 by David Combes. It was made to run on compressed air but is currently being driven by an electric motor underneath it. When fully functional its output was 90 watts, but even now it still manages to light the bulbs on the left of the display. The original plaque describing it is here. |
