Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A Geiger counter prototype. The tube is an LND-712. I'm putting on a small tube full of tritium taken from a glow-in-the-dark keyring. Tritium is a β emitter. The circuit takes 9V from a PP9 battery and boosts it up to ~500V (I measured the voltage using a 1GΩ resistor in series with the meter - it works out at about 560V). I'm getting some constant LED activity caused by noise from the booster circuit, but the clicks are loud and clear.
