Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Gated entrance to Brockhampton Court The original house, Upper Court, was a rectory, dating back to 1759 during the reign of George II (only just.)

In the late 19th century it was bought by Ebenezer D. Jordan of Boston, Massachusetts who completely rebuilt it and presented it to his daughter, Alice Madeline, on her marriage to Colonel A.W. Foster.

In 1947 the house became a hotel and in 1996 work began to turn it into a care home, which is its present use.
