| Description |
English: Galashiels Golf Course Golfers on the 8th green with the 3rd to 7th holes beyond. The 1st nine holes are known locally as "the bottom" and the 2nd nine as "the top". A steep climb up the 10th and 11th holes brings the golfer to the highest part of the course at the 330m contour line, resulting on a good day, of superb views of the town and surrounding Border countryside. Ladhope Moor Plantation in the background has been in existence for about 20 years or so.
Update on Galashiels Golf Course:- As from Sunday 2nd March 2008, the course ceased to be an 18 hole layout and has been reduced to 9 holes. As a result the old 8th green will be played as the 6th and 15th holes. For a full explanation on the move to 9 holes, see 716199. Further update on Galashiels Golf Course:- The course layout was rearranged again on 4/4/09 so this old 8th green now doubles up as the green for the 9th and 18th holes |
