English: Frozen meat in the hold of the 'Highland Rover' (1910)

Interior of the passenger/cargo liner 'Highland Rover' (1910) showing frozen quarters of beef or mutton hanging from chains in No 1 Lower Hold.

The 'La Blanca' markings on the bags indicate that this is meat exported by Sociedad Anonima La Blanca. This company was based in Buenos Aires and had one of the largest and most advanced meat chilling and freezing works in Argentina.
