Summary
[edit]DescriptionFootpath and rotting timber - geograph.org.uk - 586321.jpg |
English: Footpath and rotting timber. The path from which this photograph was taken leads from a 586031, down the valley and along the north-western banks of a series of fishing ponds (private club). Seen here is the second reached after walking down the Dumbles.
The Dumbles is the local name for a small valley. Also in this photograph timber has been felled and left to rot down, thus providing shelter for small mammals and insects and, eventually, returning nutrients to the soil. To see another photograph taken by the side of this pond (ahead, westerly), click here 586324. To see a photograph overlooking this pond (behind the viewpoint, easterly), click here 586318. |
