Italiano: Fondazione Scienza e Tecnica di Firenze. Rocchetto di Rhumkorff, H. Rhumkorff à Paris, 1865 circa. Nella seconda metà del XIX secolo, questo apparecchio venne impiegato nell’insegnamento e nella ricerca per esperimenti con gas rarefatti e con scintille elettriche. Si tratta di un trasformatore in grado di produrre alte tensioni fino a diverse centinaia di migliaia di volt. Venne utilizzato, al di fuori dei laboratori, nei primi apparecchi telegrafici senza fili e radiografici.
