English: A sound edition of 'Flowing City'
In the field of modern piano music in China, 'New & Young' musicians attempted to welcome more elements of the world and own traditions. The composer Lin Hai (I like the meaning of his name - The Sea of Forest) can be called one, among. In my long memory of piano, the deep place stored one melody - Flowing City. Playing it makes me think of 'Taking a bus or Walking & dancing' alongside the streets of one city I have been - such as my hometown Dalian, my oversea studying city Newcastle, then, Beijing, London, and Aberdeen... I can evenly 'see' a little girl dancing around... and a grandma waiting in the Bible-teaching room for us and our coming to 'Good'... In this piano 'MV', you can hear different elements integrated togather - such as American Blues-scale (especially the middle right hand-running), Pentatonic scale (the transforming relationship between two different scale), dancing rhythm like Waltz... It likes that you pass by different parts of a city - the bar area, the residential area, the commercial place, and the park... In my Dalian Library 'Cross-year and Christmas Piano-teaching Concert' with kids in this week, I will Live play it. Good luck, Jason... Before it, it's short time, and I made many exercises in my small ' classroom', and further made out this edition. If better found, I will update it... Thanks for your listenning! |
