Description
English: Photographer's caption: " Flores as seen from Playa Trapiche on Tayasal Peninsula. It is one of seven island in Lake Peten and is the capital of the Department of Penten. It is believed by some to be Tayasal, the site of the last battle between the Spaniards and the Maya Indians in 1697. It is named for Cyrillo Flores, a one time governor of the Department. Guatemala. 1923."
