Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Flamborough Lighthouse, Flamborough, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
The present lighthouse at Flamborough Head was designed by Samuel Wyatt and built (without the aid of scaffolding!) by John Matson, a Bridlington man, in 1806 at a cost of £8,000. It is 27 metres in height, standing on the edge of the 30 metre high chalk cliffs. The lighthouse was automated in 1996 and its characteristic four white flashes emitted every 15 seconds have a range of 24 nautical miles.
