Description
Español: Fig. 6. Visualización simultánea de moco, microbios reactivos con FISH, tejido del huésped y alimento ingerido con fijación de Carnoy y con fijación de PFA.

Los segmentos adyacentes de 1 cm de intestino se fijaron en Carnoy o PFA, se incrustaron en metacrilato, se seccionaron, se sondearon en paralelo y se obtuvieron imágenes con ajustes idénticos de imágenes.
Las imágenes de resumen escaneadas en mosaico (arriba) muestran la ubicación de la imagen de detalle (cuadro blanco); el brillo y el contraste se ajustaron para la visibilidad.
Las imágenes detalladas (abajo) muestran una gran partícula de comida cerca de la capa de moco. Las imágenes se sometieron a un desmezclamiento lineal y son proyecciones de máxima intensidad de hasta 5 planos.

DAPI tiñe los ácidos nucleicos, la aglutinina de germen de trigo (WGA) tiñe el moco y la sonda Eub338 se hibrida con la mayoría de las bacterias. Barras de escala =200 μm.
