| Description |
English: Entrance to Abbotts Farm, Canada Road This farm is a former horticultural nursery with many large glass houses which are mostly now disused. The owner, Colin, was kind enough to show me round. He explained that this kind of business had been killed off by a switch to sourcing plants and cut flowers from abroad. Some glass houses were still in use by tenants but it was hard to obtain planning permission either to demolish them or for viable alternative business use. There is a large disused boiler house on the site. |
