Notes
  • Significance: The tool house was constructed in 1887; the design was used frequently by the Office of the Quartermaster General of the U.S. Army, based on the prevalence of similar buildings erected throughout the cemetery system. The one-story tool house was constructed of load-bearing brick masonry with a three-bay blind arcade across the north (front) elevation, and stepped parapets along the sides. Wood framing supported the shed roof, which sloped to the rear of the building. Rectangular in plan, the tool house contained a small public toilet room in the southeast corner, in addition to spaces for housing tools, coal, and other maintenance needs...
