Čeština: Elektrická jednotka 460 byla sériově vyráběna v letech 1974–1978 v závodě Vagónka Tatra n.p. Studénka. Řešení jednotek vychází z řady 560, oproti této řadě nebo řadě 451/452 je však méně pokrokové. Z důvodu zvýšení pevnosti skříně bylo zvoleno vysokopodlažní uspořádání. Rovněž byla použita odporová regulace s předpokladem budoucí výměny za tyristorovou pulzní, ke které však nikdy nedošlo. V porovnání s jednotkami 560 byly použity obvyklejší podvozky s tuhým rámem a individuálním pohonem náprav.
Sériově byly tyto jednotky dodávány v pětivozovém provedení, u jednotek ČD dříve dislokovaných v Ústí nad Labem a jednotek ZSSK se v současnosti často používá uspořádání jen se čtyřmi vozy (2 hnací + 2 vložené). Jednotek bylo vyrobeno celkem 43 a byly přiděleny do lokomotivních dep v Ostravě, Ústí nad Labem (CZ) a Košicích (SK). V současné době jsou všechny jednotky ČD dislokovány v DKV Olomouc PJ Bohumín a PJ Olomouc, jednotky ZSSK v RD Košice. |
