Description
English: Comparison of a presumptive VPS4 spot and a ribosome at high magnification. Tomographic slices through a presumptive VPS4 structure (part 1) shows a larger, pleomorphic electron-dense structure. It is distinguishable from a cytoplasmic ribosome, selected at random from the same reconstruction (part 2), which appears smaller, less dense and shows a characteristic “groove” between subunits. Examples of these structures are detailed in Figure 7. Bar = 20 nm.
