| Description |
English: Edinburgh Trams tracks near Gogar Tram Depot. At this stage, construction of the line had only recently been finished, with many months of testing/training ahead. This is the view east from Myreton Drive bridge, looking along the access to the depot site (behind the camera). This spur joins the main line (right) at a double-junction just out of view around the corner. The diamond crossover allows trams to enter or leave from either the storage sidings (left track) or the maintenance shed (right track). This will also be the location of the future Edinburgh Gateway station - the concrete pad in the upper right corner marks the location of the tram platforms - a footbridge will link that to a mainline railway station at the top of the embankment directly ahead, which will serve the Fife-Edinburgh line, which runs in a cutting behind it. |
