English: Edinburgh Trams is the modern incarnation of a tram service in Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland. Construction commenced in July 2007. After much delay, the line opened to the public on 31 May 2014. Cost over-runs meant the line as opened is much shorter than was originally planned - it features fifteen stops, connecting the city centre with Edinburgh Airport to the west. It is operated using a fleet of 27 trams built by CAF, housed at Gogar Tram Depot. It is publicly owned & managed as a subsidiary of Transport for Edinburgh, alongside Lothian Buses.
