English: Example of extended imaging of axo-dendritic contact. An axon that was transfected with synaptophysin-GFP (green) and made contact with a dendrite from a different neuron that expressed RFP (magenta) was imaged for nine hours. Movie was generated by concatenating multiple short imaging sequences (1 frame per 10 seconds for 7.5 minutes) of the same contact over time. Each short sequence was separated by 1 to 2.5 hours. Time after imaging commenced is indicated in the upper left-hand corner; scale bar is in the lower left-hand corner. |
