Summary
[edit]DescriptionDylan Thomas' Cartref - 'The Boat House' - geograph.org.uk - 1720226.jpg |
English: Dylan Thomas' Cartref - 'The Boat House'. A low tide view showing the fairly steeply sloping foreshore down to the River Taff/ Afon Taf. A popular location for local fishermen.
The rocky inshore cliffs give a firm foundation for 'The Boat House' with its old harbour wall clearly shown in front of the house. This harbour used to be accessed at high tide through a hole in the harbour wall and was useful for deliveries to this house as from the land side, the path down to it is steep and narrow. The access passage through the wall is now sealed up and the old harbour has been infilled and is now a paved patio convenient for those using the tearooms as the patio area makes an ideal play area for children. An ideal arena for theatrical performances or recitations perhaps. For a high tide view: 1463175. |
