Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Drumnessie Settlement An oblique view from the east.

This cluster of building comprised origins of varying dates but the earliest dates from at least the early eighteenth century.

There are two separate buildings with the west one built of rubble containing two apartments, the larger which was likely the original principle cottage has six small slot type (window) openings in the masonry, a back and front door with another back door which has been converted into a modern type window. There is a smaller room on the north end which has a large opening on the eastern side. This could have been a stable or small byre for a cow.

The longer row comprises six apartments which looks like two dwellings in the middle part with modern type windows for the most part. At each gable there are smaller rooms with standard doors but both these parts are of an older build than the middle dwelling already described. There is also an annexe to the rear built of much smaller pieces of rubble than the others which may actually be the oldest part of the ruins.
