| Description |
English: Drainage ditch in the Gara valley. Parts of this valley floor are marshy, and it is very nearly at sea level, hence this drain below Goldswell. A mile towards the sea, the Gara reaches Slapton Higher Ley, itself mainly fen and carr with a small area of lagoon - could the lagoon have once reached this far up the valley? The valley sides are particularly well-wooded here. |
