English: 3D reconstruction of chick myogenic cells showing distinct morphological differences between a finger-shaped fibroblast and a mushroom-like muscle cell after 72 hrs of cytochalasin B treatment. Sequential projections in the X and Y-axis from a stack of 1-μm interval images, acquired using a laser scanning confocal microscope. Cells were labeled with antibodies against α-tubulin (green) and desmin (red), and with DAPI (blue). Note the desmin signal was detected at the periphery of the myoblast but not observed in the fibroblast. Microtubules are well spread in the fibroblast and concentrated in the center of the round myoblast. Both cells are binucleated. Scale bar, 10 μm. |
