The words: “ “Dick” Parr, Chief of the Scouts with Gen. Sheridan & Custer, in the far West.” are printed below the image. The mark for the Kern Brothers Photographic and Art Studio is on the verso. A handwritten note in the upper right corner reads: “11-25-05”. This image came in an envelope with the written description: “Dick Parr Chief of the Scouts with Gen. Sheridan and Custer”.
