Description
English: 19e-eeuws devotieprentje met primitieve afbeelding van een corpus van Christus (de "Zwarte Christus") in een stralenkrans met links en rechts een bloementak met verschillende bloemen. Bovenaan twee engelenhoofdjes in een wolk met ertussen een H. Hart van Christus. Tekst boven het corpus: "Geloofd zij Iesus Christus". Onderaan: "Waar afbeeldsel van het wonderbaar Christus Beeld, ter/ hoogte van zes voeten, uit eene noote gegroeid en thans berus-/ tende in de Parochiale Kerk van den H. Martinus, te Wyk - Maastricht". Een gebed op de achterkant. Afmetingen: 11.3 x 7.4 cm. Het 13e-eeuwse beeld van de Zwarte Christus werd eeuwenlang vereerd in het Wittevrouwenklooster aan het Vrijthof in Maastricht. Na de opheffing van het klooster in 1796 verhuisde het beeld naar de Sint-Martinuskerk in Wyck, waar de devotie werd voortgezet. Collectie: Museum De Mindere, Sint-Truiden, ref.nr. Grafiek 1160.
