English: The Earth's magnetic field can be imagined as if there were a huge bar magnet inside the Earth. Because it has two poles, it is called a dipole. So-called field lines form around such a magnet.
Deutsch: Das Magnetfeld der Erde kann man sich so vorstellen, als gäbe es im Inneren der Erde einen riesigen Stabmagneten. Weil er zwei Pole hat, heißt er Dipol. Um so einen Magneten bilden sich sogenannte Feldlinien.
