Notes
  • Significance: Following destruction of the original building by fire in 1879, the Millwright Shop was rebuilt in the same year on the old plan. The shop is very large, measuring 189 feet by 135 feet, with two additional wings one about twenty-five feet wide, the other about thirty-four feet. The shop was used for the manufacturing of heavy equipment, and is characterized by ornamental brickwork on the exterior, and decorative ironwork inside.
