Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Creek east of Brandy Hole Marshes. View south west showing the extent of the area of saltings. About 4 square kilometres criss-crossed by creeks, some up to 6m deep at high tide. Privately owned by local wildfowlers,it is the second largest area of saltings on the Crouch after Bridgemarsh Island. Two footpaths are still marked as running through it (Explorer 175), one west from this point along the old sea wall to Hullbridge and the other (passable at low tide with great care) north from the Dome on Lower Road to join the first west of the head of the main creek draining these marshes. It is possible follow the footpath across this eastern creek at the very last of the ebb and to continue to the main creek, but thereafter it's swimming. Not a place to get caught on a rising tide unless you have twelve hours to spare.
