| Description |
English: Cottingley Bridge. Cottingley Bridge carries the A650 (former Doncaster to Kendal Trunk Road) over the River Aire. The bridge was widened at its south east corner in 1967 by the addition of a steel beam encased in reinforced concrete, which can be seen in the south span of the bridge. At the same time a footbridge was added on the west side of the bridge and the flood arches on the north bank blocked off with the agreement of the River Authority. With the opening of the new route of the A650 further north this stretch of road became the B6265. |
