Description
English: Costume design of the "American King" Montezuma by Christian Gottlob Fechhelm for the opera Montezuma of the year 1755. Montezuma was composed by the German musician Carl Heinrich Graun and its libretto was written by King Frederick II of Prussia, also known as Frederick the Great. The opera is based on the historic meeting between Moctezuma II, emperor of the Mexica, and Hernán Cortés, general captain of the Spanish expedition into the Yucatán Peninsula, which took place in the year 1519 and resulted in the fall of the Mexica Empire in 1521.

Montezuma fue compuesta por el músico alemán Carl Heinrich Graun y su libreto fue escrito por el rey Federico II de Prusia, también conocido como Federico II el Grande.
