Summary
[edit]DescriptionConservative graffiti - geograph.org.uk - 1589247.jpg |
English: Conservative graffiti This bridge carries the farm track over the now disused railway serving the coal mines of Pleasley and Teversal which closed in the early 1980s. The message is clear - on the left is 'KILL ALL TORIES' and on the right is 'THATCHER OUT - TORIES OUT'. I'm assuming this would be from around the time of the miners' strike of 1984. As this location is a little out of the way, it has remained untouched. A poignant reminder of a troubled period. |
