Summary
[edit]DescriptionColon Adenocarcinoma, Whole-Mount Scan (1858505117).jpg |
This a fairly pedestrian adenocarcinoma of the colon with invasion almost completely through the muscularis propria. I threw this in here, because it is not a photomicrograph, but whole mount histologic prep that I scanned in with a film/slide scanner (CanoScan 4000US). This scan was done at the maximum resolution of the device (4000 samples per inch) and, after cropping, yielded a 3639 x 2426 pixel image. After scanning and cropping, the only processing I did was a very tiny bit of sharpening and white-balancing of the background. At the time it was digitized, the original prep was well over 20 years old. |
