Description
Deutsch: Das Jahr 2018 führte den erfolgreichen Kultur-Hackathon Coding da Vinci nach Leipzig, gemeinschaftlich veranstaltet von der Universitätsbibliothek Leipzig, dem Institut für Digitale Technologien und dem OK Lab Leipzig. Unter dem Label Coding da Vinci Ost nahm er als regionaler Ableger die drei Länder Sachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt und Thüringen in den Fokus.

Der Hackathon zeigt in Tradition seiner Vorgänger das enorme Potential frei verfügbarer, weithin nutzbarer Kulturdaten auf, um diese direkt kreativ zu nutzen, um spannenden Projekten mit Nachhaltigkeit den Weg zu ebnen. Dazu haben die Teilnehmenden und Kulturinstitutionen Hand in Hand gearbeitet, um Daten unter freien Lizenzen bereitzustellen und gemeinsam in kleinen Teams etwas Neues zu schaffen.

Der Film dokumentiert Coding da Vinci Ost 2018. Nach einem Kick-Off am 15./15. April in der Bibliotheca Albertina folgte ein neunwöchiger Entwicklungs-Sprint. In diesen Wochen entwickelten verschiedene Teams aus ersten Ideen funktionierende Prototypen, die in der Abschlussveranstaltung mit Preisverleihung am 16. Juni der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert wurden.
