Description
English: Coconut Husking (or dehusking) Tool innovated by Dr. Jippu Jacob and Dr. Joby Bastian in 1995 in the Kelappaji College of Agricultural Engineering. & Technology (KCAET), Tavanur, Malappuram District, Kerala, India, a college established and administered by the Kerala Agricultural University (KAU). Prompting by Dr. A.M. Michael, then Vice-Chancellor of KAU, encouraged the two to take up its development. Mr Rajeev Madhavan, an alumnus of KCAET, demonstrating its use in manual husking. It is a simple and easy-to-use tool. It is fast becoming an essential kitchen tool in the coconut-growing regions all over the world.
