Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The coat of arms of the Archdiocese of New York. The arms are based on the Coat of Arms of the City of New York, which show a diagonally-placed Dutch mill-sail. For the Archdiocese, the mill-sail is placed on the cross of St. Patrick, the cathedral's patron saint, which is a red diagonal cross on a white field. There are four small crosses to indicate the faith of the Archdiocese as taught in the gospels.
