| Description |
English: Cnoc Sheanadh Mhacha (Knockshannavagh) One of the access tracks to the turf cutting areas in the north of the square. The tracks tend to the gravel topped, a few feet above the surrounding blanket bog. The turf cutting usually takes place in rows at right angles to these tracks, with the cut strips stored to dry adjacent to the track.
In the distance is the remote community of Muiceanach Choille (Muckanaghkillew) in M0033 whilst the hills behind lead to the left to Leaca Donna (Lackaunna) in M0139 at 346 metres the highest hill in this part of Connemara. |
