Description
English: Cell to cell transfer of C. neoformans leads to infection of adjacent uninfected cell. In this movie the cell to cell transfer of Cn is depicted. The uninfected macrophage located on the top left of the movie projects toward and acquires multiple Cn cells from the infected macrophage, resulting in its own infection, as indicated by the arrow. This event occurred in 2% of infected macrophages (data not shown). Significant frames were selected for the movies and were compiled at 7 frames per second. Images were collected at 20×.
